Blog Drought

Sorry, All.

I have been leaving the laptop in it's case the last couple weeks. It's been good for my marriage and good for my relationship with Liam too. I think I am starting to bow out of the blogging world. I got too obsessed with it and finally burned out.

This past week was good. The only thing I have to report is that my mom bought us plane tickets to come home (to Indiana) for Christmas. I am so excited! I haven't been with my parents ON Christmas since I was in High School. Not to say we've been with Ian's parents ON Christmas in recent years either. It's been since 2000 that we were with his family ON the day. So hopefully next year we'll have the holidays with Ian's side of the family. The holidays are a lot more meaningful when you have children and I am excited to share that joy and tradition with our families in the years to come.

I will try to stay updated with bloglines feeds so I at least know what you all are up to. Don't be offended that you haven't gotten comments from me. I am just more involved with my own life these days and I think that is a great thing. I will post updates on Liam's blog, but I won't be surfing much on other blogs.

I still love you all!

Gina: You were my first real contact in the blogging world. I appreciate you so much for all you taught me. I'm sorry you got burned out.

That's so exciting that you get to go home for Christmas. How fun to be with family. Enjoy.

I think you have my e-mail address, so if you ever want to drop me a line--I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

I'll keep checking Liam's blog.

I have been where you are Gina. I am still there. Real life just has to take the front seat sometimes. I am so sporadic these days, I feel like I have to beg forgiveness, but I shouldn't. Neither should you!

What an awesome gift!! YAY!!
You don't have to apologize for having a life besides blogging. No worries.

I started my blog to keep family and friends updated with my kids. (we live far away from everyone)When I feel they have gotten enough I take breaks. I will be spending alot of time with them this fall so my blogging will probably slack off too. Life comes first.

Guess lunch or Sunday will have to do. Not really sad. I love your blogging, but I totally understand about real life.

I guess we won't erase you from our blogrolls and bookmarks! LOL! I know my blogging has gone downhill since this new semester started!

I'm with you on this. I'm going to read blogs once a week and write maybe twice (plus a few reviews to make money). I think it's too easy to get distractedf rom what matters, and I've done a little of that. I want to spend less time on my computer and more time playing with my family.

Best wishes!

I totally understand. Blogging is so fun but so time consuming. I find myself really missing reading everyone's blogs and I don't post very often anymore and I miss that too. But I too decided that I was spending too much time on the computer and my real life was missing out.

For example, Eliza has sat down at the computer and pretended to type and turned to me and said, "Mommy, I'm busy." (Guess where she heard that...).

While I've been blogging Eliza has poured out entire containers of both liquid dish soap and powdered dishwasher detergent and a variety of other messes. My favorite being the yellow food coloring she got into (that I thought was up high) and squeezed the bottle out onto the carpet. Yep, that never came out.

So, since I have been neglecting blogging (and I do miss it) my home has been neater and my children happier.

I think your statement is very true (about it being good for your marriage and relationship with your son). I love blogging, but it really can suck you right in and become overwhelming. Good for you for doing what is best for you and your family and not letting the blog world take precedence. =)

I am sooo with you girl..
it's hard...
It is soo addicting.. and I was spending way too much time on the computer..
JennyHaHa has bowed out as well..

I have thought about it.. but the bloggers are such fun..?
I don't know.. it's very hard to fit it all in!!!

I will let you know when we go to Beaver ... we need to get together...
our cabin plans are in total limbo BECAUSE NO ONE EVER CALLS US BACK... I've been waiting for two people for over a week now.. left 3 gosh darn messages now... Mike even left one of them...
it's a nightmare...

Anyhoo... I love you...

Good for you for choosing your family.

And that would be the reason I have started and stopped SO many times. I just can't NOT obsess over it. This time I am BOUND AND DETERMINED to not be that way. We'll see. I think not commenting on everyone's is helpful though. I am just going to focus on getting my thoughts and pictures up and IF I have time, I will comment on everyones. I just have to put my family first, ya know?? So know that even though I am not commenting, doesn't mean I'm not reading. I think we will be doing to the same thing. :)

I understand how you feel, Gina! There have been times that I've wished I've spent more time with my family then on the blogs. It's just so addicting that it's hard to stop sometimes. Yay for putting your family first and yes, we still love you too! :)

I had a big smile on my face when I read your first paragraph... just because, well, you speak the truth for so many bloggers I think! How many hours have I put into my blog that could have been spent loving my family? Yikes.

And I'm not even addicted! (I think. But turning off my comments really helped me strike a balance.)

I support you! I hope you are enjoying more family time!

Good for you! They are the most important thing. Just check in every great now and then, cause I'd cry if I thought this was the very, very end.
