Kiss Me Dirty Mud Run

This was the funnest time I've had when dealing with mud.  I think I made a great choice in spending my birthday morning doing something physical, dirty, and hilarious!  I had a few friends there joining in the fun.  I was so grateful to Ian taking the day off work and being my photographer.  Liam had a great time spending time with some good friends that we haven't seen in awhile... and then joined me in the fun at the very end!

Here are a couple shots of us before we hit the muddy fun!

Katie, Me, Da'Lynn, Beth!

Thanks, Eli, for taking these shots of me and Haydee!  Gosh we are cute!
Joyce is such a rock star athlete!

Thanks, Ezra, for taking these shots of me and Joyce!

Adam Griffee caught this shot of me having a funny moment!

Susana was our speedy team member!  She took this 5K seriously and ran the whole thing!

Joyce was good at keeping up the pace!

 Gorgeous Haydee.

GO HAYDEE!  Give that mud your mean face!

I loved how Heather didn't mind getting dirty and keeping me up to par.  She fell into the mud at one point as we were doing some hurdles and then made sure to send some splashes my way now and then to get me "fall-in-the-mud-dirty" too!  I loved being with her!  One of the funnest people I know!

My precious Liam getting sudsy with me!

It was such a treat to see Katie and fam there all the way from Idaho!  Her team's retro costumes got recognition!  Loved their sassy look!

I will be participating next year!  Every year I am able... this will happen and it will be this much fun again!

(Note:  I got in the shower with all my clothes on when I got home. And wouldn't you know it when I dropped my shorts... gravel exploded everywhere! How did I drive all the way home with that much gravel in my pants without feeling it is beyond me!)

Loved this quote...

Everything in life is about intention.

Grandma and Grandpa

My Grandma (Wanda Firestone, my maternal grandmother) was the best Grandma a little girl could ask for. She was beautiful, affectionate, doting, loving, and giving.

I have been so excited to get a scanner and archive all the photos I inherited from my Grandma and Grandpa after their deaths. Grandma died in 2000 just 2 months before my wedding day. I was so crushed to lose her. Grandpa (Glen Firestone) died only 3 years later and joined his sweetheart. They were a darling couple and together they loved me like I was the only child on the earth! I miss them both very much and think of them very often!

In 1984 (I was 6), Grandma and Grandpa took me and Heidi to Auto World in Flint, Michigan. I remember them laying the backseat down and making a bed for us in the back of the car so we could sleep while they drove in the wee hours of the morning... or so it seemed. It was only 2 hours away. The memory of this little indoor amusement park stuck with me. Every time I would wake up in the morning or the middle of the night, this memory would confirm that I was who I was - "I went to Auto World." Funny as it sounds, it still is a great memory with my Grandparents that I hope to never forget.

These last two photos are from my 7th birthday party - August 1985. I think it was a skating rink or party place like Showbiz, but not sure exactly. I do remember what a fun day it was!

Another beauty from a funny friend.

Paper, Rock, Scissors

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook today and I thought it was pretty awesome.

It's been awhile

It feels like everyone is neglecting their blogs these days. Sorry I seemed to have joined the crowd. I'll get my groove back soon I hope. I need to get off my butt in many respects. The wintertime and motherhood whoas have prevented me from making connections like I once did. Something I used to thrive on has lost it's luster... not good. I'll be back soon!

Merry Christmas!
