Not too horribly bad for one evening

Well my friend, Kate, did come over to help me get my junk organized on Saturday evening. Sadly Liam was being a booger and wouldn't go to bed or be agreeable in any way, shape or form.

So... since Ian was out fishing... many IDEAS were discussed rather than actual physical organizing.

It was nice to spend time with Kate and get her excellent consulting for free though. She did get me started organizing my kitchen island which was quite amazing. I have always had a standing goal to get that monster tower of junk and papers under control. Saturday it became realized. The inside and outside of it. Miracle of miracles, right?

Well, no.

Keeping it clear will be the miracle.

I look forward to maintaining a more organized kitchen (the exposed flat surfaced areas). Makes for a better night's rest. Yes, organization will help me sleep better... even if my sweet baby has decided sleeping through the night is no longer a good plan.

Uhg.

Yayy for you for making some progress. When you're done, maybe I could consult for some organizing expertise in MY kitchen? Or maybe it's just time for a yard sale. That's always a fun way to organize. Make some money so I can go buy some more junk.

I love how nice and neat thigns look after organizing. But then I feel twice as bad when they look all crappy again. So, I just leave things looking crappy. It's better for my sanity. (Or so I tell myself)

Yay for organization! We have big plans for organization when we redo the kitchen---we'll see how long they last!

And I always thought it was unfair to moms to have the idea that once your baby slept through the night (at six weeks, no less!) he'd never wake again. My first two years with all my kids were really hard. They'd finally get to sleeping well, then they'd get a new tooth or get an ear infection or stomach bug and get out of the sleeping through the night habit.

Ugh is right.

I'm so sorry your baby won't sleep through the night!

I have a love/hate relationship with organizing my stuff. I dread doing it, but I love when it is done :)

That is my biggest challenge- sorting through and storing or tossing papers. I hate it! It's especially bad right now. I have both a desk and an island covered in papers and other clutter right now. It is driving me nuts... so I leave home and ignore it. :) Maybe tomorrow I will get to it...

I always run into that.. anytime I'm on a roll the kids or dh need me to stop and do whatever. Oh well, it gets done eventually. Well, hopefully. LOL

My kids all had the same cycle as Liam. Just get mommy used to sleeping and then change the whole routine. I'm still trying to catch up!

Having one less thing to lie awake thinking about certainly helps!

I understand about the surface thing. Every clean surface I have must be magnetized because it's covered with stuff within minutes it seems. Have fun organizing! :)
