Yeah, this blog has been boring lately. Sorry. I just don't have anything juicy or fun to report. The week has been ho hum and not very eventful.
I am on a mission organization again. I cleaned/organized one fourth of my garage tonight. I am hoping that if I take it little by little, I won't get overwhelmed and give up. I am still coughing from all the dust and yuck that I stirred up and into my lungs. Ick!
My friend, Kate, is coming over on Saturday to help me finish my original mission organization in my sewing room/craft room. I am excited to have things out of Liam's sight so it's not such an ordeal if he sneaks in there while I am ironing or trying to get something out of there before he comes barreling in after me. (We keep the spare diapers, wipes and toilet paper in there so it's visited often enough to tease my poor child as he thinks it's a "toy room.")
My wonderful mother-in-law is due to come visit us at the end of the month!!! We are so excited she is finally going to be able to spend quite a few weeks with us!!! I know she and Liam are going to have a ball together! I love the moral support she provides too. She stayed with us for a month when Liam was born and I loved having her here!
So that is my main motivation to get everything in it's place so she can easily find things and also so she has room to store the things brought with her. It's tricky finding ways to make your 1,300 sf home look non-cluttered, not cramped and clean. It's also tricky to find ways to store things that shouldn't be seen out in the open. I love my home, but it could use a lot more storage space. Indoor storage space. The garage and attic don't cut it if you don't want your things to be damaged in one way or another.
So there. How's that for a post? VERY interesting reading right?
Good night...

I SO need to organize too. Our house is a mess and it drives me crazy. Clutter is just annoying. Every room seems like it's Taj's room because his stuff is EV.ERY.WHERE! Good luck in your quest for a clean and organized home. :)
yes- I get it. I don't really want to unpack anymore of our stuff because I am not sure where I am going to put it. Mostly because I am not utilizing all of the space I currently have very well... but still... What do I put in the cupboards that are too high for me to reach? What am I willing to forget I have? I think I will leave it all in the garage for another week... Maybe then I will have organized what is in the house already a little better... And maybe I will throw/give away some of what is in the garage... We are so excited to have the extra storage space.
How fun that your MIL is coming! Do you guys have some fun things planned?
And as for storage, I am of no help at all. Josh thinks "garage" is code for "Storage unit paid for with the mortgage." I've never once parked in our garage.
I'm constantly wanting more space too. We have about 1200 square feet right now and it's just not enough. Some day I hope to have closets galore!
That's fun that your MIL is coming for a visit! I love it when family comes! :)
Good luck with the organizing! I've been going through spurts of re-organizing and it does help soooo much. Our family of five is living in about 1200 sq ft now and it gets a bit snug at times.
I actually wouldn't mind if each room was just a tad bigger and we had a linen closet and a coat closet! A pantry would be a plus too. ;)
Okay, so obviously I'm a wee bit dissatisfied with my house! LOL
Hope you had a nice weekend...
