I haven't been blogging like my normal self. It's odd, weird and surprisingly something that hasn't been at the forefront of my mind like it was prior to two weeks ago.
Having my mother-in-law here has been like a constant party. I am working, but when I am at work, I feel a larger longing to be home than usual... like I should be on vacation because we have a house guest.
I haven't done much that's in my normal routine since Dixie started her 6 week long stay... 4 more weeks to go and I really don't know where the last two weeks went. She has been my right hand (wo)man since she got here! If she moved in for good, I would be in heaven!
-My laundry detergent is disappearing.
-My kitchen sink shines!
-I actually pulled out my pile of clothes that need hemming, tailoring and dying.
-I haven't been whipping the laptop out the minute Liam goes to bed.
-I am staying up too late chatting with Mom or watching a cool show on TV with Mom, not blogging.
-Liam is happier.
-Liam is not crawling all over me when I work from home in the mornings.
-Drew (Ian's brother) stops by more often (to add more of the party feeling).
-Between me, Ian and Dixie, we make a phenomenal team for making good eats! We've had some awesome meals off the grill (thanks, Ian), out of the oven and straight from the cutting board. I haven't been to Burger King in two weeks because there have been some tasty leftovers for me to tote to work. Yay for good eats and not so many "yays" for gaining those last few pounds to put me right back to where I started the day before Liam was conceived. Oh well, my pants still fit... some of them.
To sum up... having Mom around is awesome!
Totally Distracted
I have been kicking myself (figuratively) for not blogging much lately. I have never had droughts like this. My sweet mother-in-law flew into Utah on Saturday so we've been busy since she got here. It's kinda felt like a party because she is here. And she is going to be here for 6 weeks!
I am really starting to envy folks that have their families living near them. I did before, but I really do now! It is soooo nice to have our mom doting on Liam and just being around to play with him... having her around to buffer any sour moods and just to chat with her. We were up until 2am last night chatting away! I knew what time it was, but I didn't want to walk away from great conversation. Being groggy this morning was SO worth it.
I read Suzanne's blog yesterday and realized she nominated Liam's blog for a thinking award. Thanks, Suzanne! So now I have some homework to nominate some other blogs that make me think. I am looking forward to doing that, but I am not sure when I will get to it. When does the award giving end? Is there a due date?
Speaking of Suzanne... I get to meet her this Saturday. Tori and I are meeting up with her! Yay for play dates and picnics and treats and fun friends!
Anyway, this is a random post. I will get back into blogging soon. Sorry I haven't been out commenting much.
